Description:
Created at the beginning of my artistic journey, during Early Chapter 1 (2006 - 2020). “Storyteller” is the second of three pieces that started it all—a reflection on the power we hold in shaping our own narratives.
Storytellers of our lives
we hold the pen
to the rules we now change
Fall to the floor
listen as the wind blows
Take time
to listen to your heart
When I start to draw, whether on canvas or in my notebook, I let my emotions and thoughts take over. My art is the one time when I feel truly free. The storyteller within me reveals that we hold the pen when writing our own lives, reminding us of the importance of taking the time to listen to ourselves.
The layered forms and flowing text intertwine with delicate golden hues, creating a sense of movement—like whispered thoughts or memories carried by the wind. The intricate marks and handwritten words invite contemplation, allowing the viewer to engage with the piece on their own terms, as if reading fragments of an unwritten story.
Using a blend of oil and acrylic paint, this piece has a rich depth and texture, allowing the colours to shift and interact dynamically, much like the evolving stories we tell ourselves.
“Storyteller” is about embracing change, owning our journey, and understanding that the narrative of our lives is still being written.
