When it comes to transforming your home or space with colour, deciding how much time you’ll need for Colour Consultancy is key. I offer both hourly consultations and packages to suit your needs, and this guide will help you choose the right option.

What to Expect in a Colour Consultancy Package
My Colour Consultancy packages are structured into three steps to ensure a smooth, enjoyable process:
The Workshop: This one-hour session sets the foundation for your project by exploring your ideas, preferences, and inspirations. We’ll look at colour trends, design influences, and your personal vision to create a roadmap for your space. By the end of the workshop, we’ll have crafted initial colour palettes that can be applied throughout your home, ensuring a cohesive and harmonious result. Workshops are not compulsory, so if you prefer, we can skip this step and dive straight into the consultation.
The Consultation: A personalised, room-by-room guide to selecting colours tailored to your home.
The Follow-Up: Complimentary time to finalise samples, finishes, and a detailed colour specification.
For at-home consultations, the workshop and consultation are combined into one seamless session. For virtual consultations, these steps can be divided into smaller sessions, offering flexibility to suit your schedule.

Hourly vs. Package: What Works Best for You?
I offer both hourly rates and packages so you can choose what fits your needs best:
Hourly Consultations: Perfect for smaller projects or when you need quick, targeted advice. Example: A two-hour session for a two-bedroom flat, including a 30-minute virtual follow-up to guide you through sampling.
Packages (4+ Hours): Ideal for larger projects or when you’d like comprehensive guidance from start to finish. Includes a total of two hours of follow-up time to ensure everything is perfect. Flexible session options, whether completed in one day or spread across multiple sessions.
Understanding the Time You’ll Need How Much Time Does Colour Consultancy Take
Some clients consider starting with just one or two hours for larger homes. However, for properties with multiple rooms, investing in a package often works better. For instance:
A 4+ bedroom home typically requires at least four hours to explore palettes and provide tailored advice for each space.
Packages include additional follow-up time, allowing for a stress-free process that ensures your space feels complete.
If you’re unsure, I recommend starting with two hours. If more time is needed, you can easily upgrade to a package on the day.
Real Client Examples
Example projects provide insight into how other clients have used my Colour Consultancy services. The time spent on each project varies depending on the client's decision-making process and specific needs.
5-Bed House in Newmarket (3000 sq ft):
1 hour workshop
4 hours home consultation
2 hours virtual finish/regroup sessions
5-Bed House in Hertford (4000 sq ft):
1 hour virtual colour workshop
5 hours home consultation (4 hours on day one, including the workshop, followed by 3 hours the next week to regroup and meet with the decorator)
1 hour virtual finish session
5-Bed House in Wimbledon (3000 sq ft):
7 hours virtual consultation, broken into 30-60 min sessions
All three steps were completed during these sessions.
5-Bed House in Bath (4900 sq ft, 6 floors):
1 hour virtual colour workshop - 6 hours home consultation (4 hours on day one, including the workshop, and 3 hours the following day to regroup with fresh eyes)
1 hour virtual finish session after the client had time to sit with the colours for two weeks.
Notes:
I typically recommend no more than four hours of consultation in one day. If the project is local and easily accessible, we can arrange to regroup on another day or take some of the follow-up time for a fresh session. For projects requiring significant travel or overnight stays, we can adjust the schedule to include regrouping the following day. The process is always tailored to your needs and decision-making style, ensuring the experience feels smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free.

Making Your Decision
Whether you choose an hourly session or a package, my goal is to make the process stress-free, enjoyable, and tailored to your vision. By working together, we’ll create a home that reflects your unique style and personality while avoiding costly mistakes.
Here’s what some of my clients have said about working with me:
"We had an outstanding experience with Robert. He not only helped us choose the perfect paint colours for our entire house but went above and beyond by visiting carpet and tile shops to ensure everything matched perfectly. His friendly nature made the process enjoyable, and he took the time to understand our personalities and what would work best for us. At the end, he provided a detailed document listing all the colours for each room, including skirtings and doors. His dedication, eye for detail, and willingness to go the extra mile made all the difference."
— Gayathri, Cambridge
"I have a two-bedroom flat in London by the river. I didn’t need the full 4-hour package, so Robert came for just 2 hours. During that time, he really took the effort to understand my vision, considering how the light and river reflections influenced the space. Together, we chose the perfect colours for my home. An added bonus was that Robert passed on his trade discount for the paint, which ended up covering the cost of his service. I’m completely happy with the results and would highly recommend him."
— Tony, London
